JOIN US FOR A SPECIAL PRESENTATION BY ARCHAEOLOGIST MICHAEL FOSHA

THE MOVIE DRAW ROCK SHELTER

Archaeologist Michael Fosha is Northern Plains Investigator for the Center for American Paleolithic Research. He formerly served as South Dakota’s Assistant State Archaeologist. His presentation will discuss the Movie Draw Rock Shelter archaeological site, which is located in Custer State Park in the southern Black Hills of South Dakota. Dates from the shelter span the Late Woodland to the Late Prehistoric traditions but the site largely consists of Avonlea stratified components that suggest successive summer occupations. We look forward to seeing you as we welcome Michael, who is making a special trip from Rapid City to Sioux Falls to present at our meeting. This is our final meeting until next fall and we hope you will help close out the season by attending!
